Linda Kemp Wins Main Street Leadership Award
On Friday, April 13th, Governor Kim Reynolds presented Linda Kemp with a Main Street Iowa Leadership Award. Main Street Iowa has annually presented awards honoring outstanding accomplishments, activities and people that are making a difference in Main Street districts across the state. Linda was selected for the award thanks to her leadership and volunteerism for the local Main Street Program.
Projects large and small are recognized and serve as outstanding examples representing historic commercial district revitalization. Local entrepreneur, Katie McMartin of 319 Décor & Design, was nominated for the “Superior Interior Renovation Award” for her efforts in renovating the main floor of 711 G Avenue.
In addition to Linda and Katie, representatives of the local program included Keely Harken (Board Member and Promotion Committee Chair) and Lisa Bienfang (Executive Director).
Main Street Grundy Center invests in promoting the downtown district and preserving its history to strengthen the community’s economic vitality for businesses, families, and visitors to live, shop, work, and play.
